I originally listened to this podcast as each episode was released. If you pay attention to the year, and you remember what the world was like back then, it is probably no secret that something positive and hopeful was a breath of fresh air. Doing some maintenance on backups I have, I found I still had all of the episodes downloaded. I got excited enough that I copied them back over to my phone, and will listen to them whenever I want a change of pace for 20 - 30 minutes.
The Anthropocene Reviewed
John Green's solo podcast reviewing facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale — wrapped in 2021 and later adapted into a bestselling essay collection.
Each monthly episode paired one or two reviews of something distinctly of the Anthropocene — Diet Dr Pepper, the QWERTY keyboard, Canada geese, an orbital sunrise — rated on a five-star scale and delivered in Green's reflective, essayistic style. Ran for 36 episodes between January 2018 and August 2021, then folded into the book "The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet."
